Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has again increased the price of gold in the country’s market in a span of three days. This time, the price of a load of 22 carat gold with VAT has been increased by Tk 2,216 per load and Tk 2,23,740.
Bajus informed this information in a circular on Friday (July 31) morning. The newly fixed price has been effective from 10 am today.
According to Bajus notification, the price of Tejabi gold (Pure Gold) has increased in the local market. For this reason, the new price of gold has been determined taking into account the overall situation.
According to the new rate, the price of 21 carat gold with VAT (11.664 grams) is Tk 2 lakh 13 thousand 43, the price of 18 carat is Tk 1 lakh 82 thousand 950 and the price of traditional gold has been fixed at Tk 1 lakh 49 thousand 474.
Bajus said that this new rate will be effective in all jewelery establishments of the country until further orders.
However, wages will be applicable separately as per the design of the ornament. VAT cannot be charged separately from the buyer as VAT is included in the sale price of ornaments. Apart from this, the previous rules of Bajus will remain in force in the case of buying and selling or changing ornaments.
Earlier, Bajus adjusted gold prices last Tuesday (July 28). On that day, the price of a load of 22 carat gold was reduced by Tk 2,216 per load to Tk 2,20,857.
Meanwhile, despite the increase in the price of gold, the price of silver remains unchanged in the country’s market. At present, a load of 22 carat silver including VAT is being sold at Tk 4,607. Besides, the price of 21 carat silver has been fixed at 4 thousand 374 taka, 18 carat at 3 thousand 791 taka and traditional silver at 2 thousand 858 taka.
